Philip Emerick is a Rating Director and has an impressive background and wealth of knowledge from a career in private practice, commerce, and with his own consultancy. Philip is a regular expert witness in Valuation Tribunal, with similar experience in Magistrates Court, County Court, High Court and at Arbitration, including a Rating Test Case.
Philip’s experience covers a very wide spectrum of property types. He carries out specialist trade valuations which method includes licensed property, hotels, petrol stations, livestock markets, racecourses to name but a few. In addition, some properties are so specialist there is no open market, and he has successfully carried out and advised on such properties, such as museums, and universities. He also advises on equestrian property such as Stud Farms and Racing Stables.
Philip trained and practiced as a Land Agent and Agricultural Auctioneer before moving into Estate Management/Landlord & Tenant for a Local Authority. He had 12 years in commerce as the property manager for a large financial services company. Since 2000 Philip has worked exclusively as a Surveyor specialising in Business Rates. His notable achievements include major reductions for Ascot and Chester Racecourses, Go Ape, Westminster Kingsway College, Visit Britain, The Imperial War Museum, KBR, and the National Space Museum.
