"We were thrilled with the reduction that CVS achieved on our behalf. Without the professional support, guidance and dedication that CVS brought to our appeal, we don’t believe that such a great reduction would have been secured. As a forward-thinking company, we now have the peace of mind that we are paying fair and accurate business rates bills, and that is thanks to CVS."

CIP Recruitment Services instructed CVS to see if a reduction in Rateable Value was possible across six of their UK sites. Following full inspection of the premises in question, the CVS Surveyor, Michael Clayton, was able to achieve a significant reduction for CIP Recruitment Services, which will in turn, generate savings in excess of £30,000 across the seven year Rating List.

CVS Comment:

"After inspecting the property it became apparent that the on-going works relating to the Cross Rail were having a substantial impact on the passing footfall along Great Chapel Street and, as a consequence of this, impacting on our client’s revenue. This was due to the fact that the hoardings surrounding the building site were only a few feet from the shop front and the works themselves were creating severe levels of noise and disruption. CVS had already successfully agreed a 22.50% allowance for restricted access and impact of the Cross Rail works for another client along Great Chapel Street and, after opening negotiations with the Valuation Office Agency, we were able to prove that those issues were also present here and that the same allowance should be applied. This resulted in the Rateable Value being successfully reduced from £74,000 to £64,500."
