CVS Comment:

“There was already an established tone for industrials in the local vicinity of this Client’s premises. This was quite an unusual case, as the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) had inspected the premises themselves and found that a sprinkler system had been installed which was not reflected in the assessment. As a result, they increased the assessment to include this element, and as it was a compiled List inaccuracy it was increased from the date of schedule.

I assessed all case papers and discovered notes stating that in fact, the sprinkler system had been de-commissioned. I had to work closely with the CVS Account Manager and the Client but eventually unearthed a copy of the invoice for  completing the job and contract to de-commission. All dates were post 1 April 2010 but before the date of schedule increase. As a result, the VOA reduced the assessment back to the figure in the compiled List with effect from the date used on that date of schedule notice because at the time they changed the List, in effect, there was no sprinkler system to value.”
